Built for the Journey

Escarpment Running Inc. was created for runners who see the road, trail, and mountain not just as terrain, but as a calling. As members of the Burlington community, we recognized the need for a trail and road running store. Inspired by the rugged beauty of the Niagara Escarpment, our store is more than a place to buy shoes; it’s a place where passion meets purpose.

We believe that running is not merely a fitness choice. It’s a lifestyle, a mindset, a personal quest. Whether you're grinding through tempo runs on city pavement, chasing vertical gain on remote trails, or training for your next ultramarathon, we’re here to guide and equip you for every step.

Our approach is simple: curating premium, hard-to-find brands and models chosen for precision, performance, and fit.

We work with each runner to understand their goals, the terrain, and training load, then build personalized shoe rotations to optimize performance, prevent injury, and elevate the running experience.

At Escarpment Running Inc., we don’t believe in shortcuts. We believe in the long run. In grit, in glory, in choosing the hard way because it’s the most rewarding.

The Founder

Juan Aja Aguinaco is a Mexican-born Canadian who found running in 2023 and quickly discovered an entire world of adventure.

Running gave him the strength, resilience, and self-awareness to overcome challenges and find his centre.

Because Juan was introduced to running by a friend, he understands that running can be either a lonely activity or a powerful tool to build community, friendship and support.

Escarpment Running comes from that place: to build togetherness.
